Preston Hall Coaster

£10.00 per coaster

2.00 (gift box optional)

Product Description:

Glass Coaster Length 10 cm x  Width 10 cm

As M&S would say in their advertising campaign “This is not just any coaster but it is an elegant, bespoke, handcrafted coaster made from  the highest quality of glass". Two pieces of glass are incorporated in this design which are seamlessly fused together. The design image  is based on the historic Preston Hall, previously home of Lord Ropner, near Yarm.

Lord Ropner bought Preston Hall in 1882 and was a shipping merchant and shipbuilder. He extended the property by the addition of substantial wing blocks, and in about 1900 he added a large and recently renovated winter garden or conservatory. The Ropner baronets lived in the house until 1937 (in which year Leonard Ropner served as High Sheriff). It was acquired by the Stockton on Tees District Council in 1947. On 3 June 1953, Preston Hall was officially opened for the first time as a museum, as part of the celebration of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. In the 1970s, there were a number of additions made to the museum, including the building of the popular replica Victorian Street.

This is perfect gift for those who love Yarm, Preston Hall/Museum and its history.

Bumper feet are included on the base of the coaster to protect  furniture.  This is a durable product which can be easily wiped down if there are any spills.

Colours:   Black design on either a transparent background or coloured glass background.  The coaster in the image is shown on a white glass background.   Please stipulate the colour preference at time of order.

NB: The champagne bubbles which appear in the glass are a typical feature of glass fusing process.

Stand -   A oak stand for 4 coasters can be purchased for £6.00.

Gift Box - If this is for a present you can purchase a gift box for an additonal cost.

Please note:   All of my glass art is bespoke and handcrafted therefore no two pieces are the same.  Please expect variations  in  size, shading, colours, shapes,  glass and design elements. There will be some displacement within the powder, this is natural as the frit melts slight gaps will form.

Ready to dispatch in 5 - 7 working days.

Shipping costs may apply and will be calculated at time of enquiry.
